AEW Factions Power Rankings: Post Worlds End
Back in February when we started the 2024 rankings we only had 10 qualifying factions. Since then only about half remain in their original form. It's interesting to look back and compare: https://www.prowrestlingmusings.com/post/aew-factions-power-rankings-first-of-2024 Out of the Rankings Bang Bang Gang- Everyone's hurt! Feels wrong to leave them off but they haven't had the matches lately. The exception being Jay White who's having a pretty good solo run. 2025 Predictio

AEW Factions Power Rankings: August Check In
We are in one of those rare times this year where there isn't a recent AEW PPV to shake things up, but it is time to see where factions stand. Next month we'll be recapping things in the post All In/All Out landscape so consider this entry the calm before the late summer storm. On Hold Death Triangle- What a frustrating history it's been with Death Triangle. As a fan of all three members I was so excited when they formed a team. Their history has been filled with starts an

AEW Factions Power Rankings: Post Forbidden Door
Being halfway through 2024, now feels like a good time to clean up the rankings a bit. There are groups that haven't been featured on AEW main programming in a while and it just doesn't make sense to me to include them in the rankings anymore. In order to rejoin the rankings, it's going to take more than a guest appearance. We're going to need a substantial program or chasing an AEW title to be back on the main list. It's doubtful that this happens for some of these teams

AEW Factions Power Rankings: Post Double or Nothing
As of this article I'm tracking 17 groups (not including ROH). Looking over the list I wondered if maybe this is too many. One criticism of AEW is having a large roster and not enough TV time. The upside is that being a part of a group may increase visibility for talent that may not get featured otherwise. Killswitch hasn't had a match in months, but he does get to hang around with the Patriarchy and look menacing. Good work if one can find it. So bring on more factions

AEW Factions Power Rankings: Post Dynasty
Dynasty proved that the biggest factor in a faction's overall ranking is the ability to win championships. This attainment score can soften a weak win % (strength), it can also alleviate poor cohesion amongst members. Without a title to their name, a faction can rarely be considered in the top five at any given time in AEW. Several factions have been inert in regards to appearances, ring time, and momentum. The consequence of having a historically stacked roster. Sometim

AEW Factions Power Rankings: Post Revolution
AEW's Revolution PPV was one for the history books as Sting wrapped up a legendary career, we got a new champion (for the AEW International), and Will Ospreay proved he may be the best signing that AEW has ever made. All were big moments but we're here to see how this plays into the factions of AEW and how they compare to each other. Out of Contention LFI- As of this writing, Preston Vance is the only member with matches this year. Rush should be back from injury soon but w

PWMusing's 2023 AEW MOTY Rankings
Here at the Pro-Wrestling Musings site we have an annual tradition of sending out ballots at the end of each year to our contributors and to friends of the site asking for their input on arriving at a consensus of what was the very best of the year in one of our favorite promotions: All-Elite Wrestling. Last week, we put out the Year-End Awards in various categories such as "Best Show" and "MVP" based on the selections and comments of our balloters. In each category, each of

AEW Factions Power Rankings: First of 2024
With the return of AEW's official rankings I wondered if this list would feel redundant or even necessary. There's a couple of things that set our system apart from AEW however. First, they rank trios not factions and there are a couple of key differences. A trios is limited to three while a faction can be many more. Secondly, a couple of the trios on AEW rankings really feel like limited partnerships and not long term groups. FTR and Daniel Garcia are fun, but will th

Dissolved Groups QTV: I was going to put this group last in the rankings, but with QT Marshall leaving by the end of the year and not even a smidge of recent TV time I'm putting this group down. Unless Johnny TV wants to take over the group and bring back Worldwide Underground (who else remembers?). On Hold Snake Army: Anything going on with Jake Roberts group? As soon as they formed Lance Archer went off on a tour of Japan and the Righteous haven't been featured on AEW TV.

AEW Factions Power Rankings: Post Full Gear
For the majority of the year figuring out the rankings was a fairly simple formula. Titles (attainment) took the most importance, followed by a faction's win/loss record (strength). Any tie breakers or fine tuning came down to cohesion and purpose scores. That formula hasn't been working as well these past few weeks as certain factions with titles have poor strength scores (QTV) or factions with a good strength have a poor purpose score (Dark Order). Momentum has gained i

Worker of the Week 32
This week was one of the hardest weeks of the year to put into a top ten. We had the finals of the G1 in Ryogoku Sumo Hall, the continuation of NOAH's N-1 Victory tournament, and we saw some amazing shows as Stardom gets into the thick of their 5 Star GP tournament too! The quality of these tournaments has been extraordinary, especially the last couple days of the G1 which was a much needed boost to a fairly lackluster tournament. All of these wrestlers have had multiple matc

Worker of the Week 29
We're back with another great week of wrestling that saw the continuation of the G1 Climax, the start of the 5 Star Grand Prix in Stardom, and DDT's biggest show of the year, Wrestle Peter Pan. We also had some great shows over in America with the Blood and Guts edition of AEW Dynamite and a surprisingly amazing Death Before Dishonor from ROH that had one of the best women's matches of the year. Honourable Mentions: - Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens (Zayn & Owens vs Mysterio & Priest

It's a shame that Dark and Elevation are no more as both shows were valuable in building stats for workers and their factions. Replacing them will be the AEW House Rules shows that I'm trying to follow for win/loss records. I haven't been tracking the dark matches that have been taking place before Dynamite tapings. How Rankings are Determined: Strength: For the win-loss records this year I am tracking all win/losses on my own. For supplemental research I use cagematch.n
