Wrestler of the Year Candidate 2

Kazuchika Okada

Another year, another wrestler of the year candidate-ship from Kazuchika Okada. He started the year by continuing his reabilitation from his kayfabe breakdown the previous year and followed through by winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship for the fifth time.

The rest of the year was more typical of Okada. He put on great match after great match against a whole host of opponents. He led the continued NJPW expansion into North America, winning the championship on American soil and opening the G1 with a Tanahashi match again on American soil.

Okada goes into Wrestle Kingdom 14 as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion for the first ever two day Wrestle Kingdom.
