Next Week in Wrestling | 12th - 18th December 2022

After a one week break, we are back to take you through the World of Wrestling for next Week and let me assure you - until the end of the year, the weeks will be STACKED.

Recommendation of the Week: Ricochet vs Walter

Although the diversity in the Smackdown 'World' Cup wasn't the greatest, the action was great, with Ricochet coming out as the winner after beating Santos Escobar in the final. Thus Ricochet gets a shot for the Intercontinental Title against Walter. This is certain to be an absolute banger, with the matchees that these guys have done recently.

WWE

In the runup to the Royal Rumble, we will find out a few Number 1 Contenders, with Bayley and Alexa Bliss battling for a shot at the Raw Womens Championship and Bobby Lashley fighting against Seth Rollins for the right to face the United States Champion Austin Theory.

On Smackdown Damage CTRL faces Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox, with Hit Row facing off againast Legado del Fantasma and the Viking Raiders.

AEW

After last week's phenomenal promo from Ricky Starks, he finally gets his opportunity to dethrone MJF. Even though it likely won't be successful, it is bound to make Ricky Starks feel even more like a superstar.

The best of 7 series between the Elite and Death Triangle continues with Death Triangle still leading 2-1.

NJPW

The Tag Leagues finally come to an end with the final being Bishamon against Aussie Open to find out who faces FTR at Wrestle Kingdom. Karl Anderson bothered to show up too, to face Hikuleo for the NEVER Openweight Title.

AAA

AAA has their next Show on December 17th. The main event has potential to be amazing with Fenix, Komander and Taurus squaring off. Another notable match is Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara defending their Mixed Tag Titles and Flammer and Abismo Negro Jr.

NOAH

There will be 2 events on December 18th called 'New Hope' and 'Diamond 5'. The biggest matchup on those cards is most certainly Katsuhiko Nakajima battling Satoshi Kojima.

Stardom

The younger brand of Stardom has their 6th show on the 16th, with Starlight Kid and Thekla being part of it, teaming with KARMA and Mai Sakurai respectively.

Indies

wXw and GWF

wXw are putting on their 22nd Anniversary Show with the Showcase match between Cara Noir, who has recently made waves in DDT as well, and the former Alexander Wolfe, Axel Tischer. Tristan Archer also defends his wXw World Title against Levaniel.

The other big Wrestling Promotion in Germany, the GWF, holds their event 'Final Countdown' with the main event being Pascal Spalter and Erkan Sulcani going all out for both the GWF Berlin Title and the GWF World Title. Crowchester and Metehan battle for the Number 1 contender Spot.

Warrior Wrestling

Johnny 'Warrior' challenges Sam Adonis for the Warrior Lucha Title. AEW Wrestler Eddie Kingston is on the card as well facing Warhorse. Other notable Wrestlers include Mike Bailey, Max Caster and unfortunately EC3.

GCW

El Hijo del Vikingo is finally coming to the US! His opponent is not yet known. Some matches on the Amerikaz Most Wanted card are Janela vs Pagano and Gage vs Deppen.

DEFY

Nick Wayne and El Hijo del Vikingo collide in a low key dream match to kick off Vikingo's Journey in the US. That's one match that you NEED to seek out somewhere afterwards.

HOG

House of Glory has surprisingly been putting on some bangers recently, and they look to continue that with the japanese legend KENTA facing Low Ki. Nick Aldis, who has been controversially released from the NWA, looks to make a new home in HOG, by winning the World Title from Jacob Fatu.

Battleground Championship Wrestling

In an homage to ECW, Battleground Championship Wrestling produces 'A Tribute to the Extreme'. Numerous ECW Alumni are part of the event, with Rhino facing Rob Van Dam, Bully Ray battling with Matt Cardona, 2 Cold Scorpio facing Rich Swann and Lucha legend Juventud Guerrera putting on a show with Super Crazy.

Overview

Yes, it's that much that I really needed 2 Screenshots to capture it all. There's not really something major this week, but loads of wonderful indie wrestling.

Lemme know what you're excited for the most!
