AEW Dynamite vs WWE NXT - 04.12.19

Comparing the main events of Dynamite and NXT.

In the second instalment of AEW Dynamite vs WWE NXT we compare Jon Moxley vs Joey Janela with Tomasso Ciampa, Keith Lee and Dominick Dijakovic. Two very different matches both in terms of booking decision and in ring action.

Movleyt vs Janella was a back and forth match to the extreme. So much so neither man got too much of a chance to control the match for an extended period. Whereas NXT's 6-man was packed full of offence with the pendulum swinging slightly slower.

NXT's multi-man tag affair dwarfed AEW's singles contest in terms of numbers. Total offence was more than double and the per minute ratio almost doubled. It was also longer but AEW's effort was much more of a back and forth affair.

This week, AEW put more story into their contest with them placing more emphasis on rule-breaking and taunting to build character.

After a strong week, last, AEW Dynamite struggled for identity and perhaps didn't really have any major highlight. The on-going women's feuds and main event jostling for position in NXT shone through as the best storytelling this week.
