Next Week in Wrestling | 9th - 15th January

After these last few weeks of craziness, we can calm down for a bit in this week. A lot of regular stuff, an Impact PPV and some Tournament events.

Recommendation for the Week: Literally the whole AEW Dynamite episode

With the debut of Mercedes Moné at Wrestle Kingdom, there still is a chance that she debuts on Dynamite during or after the womens tag match. The feud between Moxley and Hangman reaches its next stage with them finally facing off on Dynamite.

The japanese phenomenon Konosuke Takeshita is in the way of Bryan Danielson finally getting a shot at MJF in a 60 minute Ironman Match.

And finally, week 7 of the Best of Seven Series between the Elite and Death Triangle is ahead of us, The Escalera de la Muerte is bound to be absolutely amazing and must watch!

Also... HOOK

WWE

It's always lovely when Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens face off, but the implications that the match has in the Bloodline story, makes it mean just this bit more. Although it likely won't end up with Sami challenging Roman at Mania, it really should.

Gunther will hopefully successfully defend the Intercontinental Title against Braun Strowman. Another title that's on the line is the NXT title in a match between Bron Breakker and Grayson Waller.

Impact Wrestling

The career of Mickie James will be on the line as she takes on the Impact Women's champion Jordynne Grace. While Mike Bailey and Kushida are suffering in the preshow, Bully Ray gets a World title match against Josh Alexander with the Full Metal Mayhem Stipulation.

DDT

With Naruki Doi vs Daisuke Sasaki ending up in a draw, Yuki Ueno decided he wanted to take on both of them in a Triple Threat Match this Friday. One notable addition on the card is the Team of Sanshiro Takagi, the president of NOAH and DDT, and Fuminore Abe, who has been stellar in Germany.

Stardom

This week gives us 3 more events in Stardom's Trios Tournament - The Triangle Derby. While it was unfortunate that the AZM vs SLK match was cancelled, we've got some special singles matches on this card as well with Thekla battling against Momo Kohgo, and Yuna Mizumori getting a chance to beat the former World of Stardom Champion Syuri.

NOAH

After surprisingly being pinned by the up-and-coming Jack Morris, Kaito Kiyomiya faces the GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion AMAKUSA. On this card you also have Takashi Sugiura and NOSAWA Rongai teaming up against the Kongoh team of Kenoh and Hajime Ohara.

Overview

Overall a pretty tame week, especially after these last few ones. still some good stuff throughout with Impact doing a PPV, some japanese events, and a stacked Dynamite.

Enjoy it!
