Lariate’s TV Ratings | January 9th to January 15th.

RAW is trying to make a return as the NFL playoffs approach, AEW Dynamite is back in the saddle, Smackdown and Rampage are taking it easy.

RAW Ratings (9th January) :

  • Ratings : 1 692 000 (+5,42 %) & 0.50 sur les 18-49 [+0.09]

  • Ratings per hour :

    • H1 : [P2+ : 1 766 000] [18-49 : 0.52] [Cable Pos : 7]

    • H2 : [P2+ : 1 799 000] [18-49 : 0.53] [Cable Pos : 6]

    • H3 : [P2+ : 1 512 000] [18-49 : 0.46] [Cable Pos : 9]

Despite a lower premiere than last week, the red show continued to gain viewers to close in on 1,700,000 which is quite decent with a solid 0.50 in 18-49. An even stronger number when you consider the competition that was opposite: College Football on ESPN which gathered more than 16,626,000 viewers with a thundering 4.65 in the 18-49 demographic.

RAW held up well on Monday against a big game and the following week will be even tougher as it will be against the final Wild Cards game of the playoffs.

Ratings NXT (10th January) :

  • Ratings : 700 000 (+7,20 %) & 0.15 sur les 18-49 [-0.01]

  • Cable Pos : 17th.

NXT continues its momentum and is off to a good start in 2023. Although the demographics have dropped slightly, the show has gained several spots on cable. All this with an audience that is reaching 700,000. All the right ingredients are there to start the year off right. The addition of main roster talent seems to have a slight positive effect on the numbers of the "developmental" show.

Opposite NXT, there is strong direct competition with the Golden Globe on NBC (6 254 000 & 1.13) and the NBA on TNT (809 000 & 0.26).

Ratings AEW Dynamite (11th January) :

  • Ratings : 967 000 (+11,92 %) & 0.33 sur les 18-49 [+0.07]

  • Cable Pos : 3th.

Last week's episode was indeed a simple "accident" and the show is back to its usual standards (with a very nice card). The year is finally getting underway for Dynamite which even recorded some interesting data on certain demographics. Indeed, the show had a superb 60% gain in F12-34 while the P50+ demographic remained the same. So it's definitely a younger audience that has regained interest in this week's show. Let's hope that the next weeks will confirm these nice results with a 3rd place on the cable just behind the 2 NBA games.

The two NBA games of the evening did respectively 955 000 & 0.37 for the 8:00PM game and 876 000 & 0.33 for the 10:00PM game. We can also note that the series Chicago Med on NBC always records good scores (6 798 000 & 0.62).

Ratings Smackdown (13th January) :

  • Ratings : 2 326 000 (+3,06 %) & 0.55 sur les 18-49 [+0.02]

An average show this week, even if there is a slight loss on the demographics compared to the previous two years. No unusual competitors in front, a classic week as the shadow of a company sale currently hangs overhead. No effect either following Vince McMahon's return as WWE Chairman. Nothing abnormal to report, the 0.55 is nevertheless a good score.

Opposite, there was an NBA game on ESPN (1,358,000 & 0.42) as well as Shark Tank on ABC (4,035,000 & 0.55).

Ratings AEW Rampage (13th January) :

  • Ratings : 513 000 (-6,90 %) & 0.13 sur les 18-49 [-0.02]

  • Cable Pos : 24th.

Rampage lost on its demographics but regained places on cable (31st place last week) to get back to end of year 2022 standards. They are losing on all demographics compared to the last episode but the whole is still quite positive as some scores were really not good at the end of the year. It would be interesting for AEW to get back to an average of 0.15 for the month of January for the symbolic side.

As every Friday, there was an NBA game opposite which was broadcast on ESPN and which gathered 1 114 000viewers with a 0.39 on the 18-49.
